This process involves using dye and a resist, creating a unique mineral dying technique. The lotus motif and stylized borders, in ash-grey tones, exude a captivating aura. This dye offers a stunning range of grey, khaki, brown, and red shades, commonly found in Bagru (Jaipur). The skilled artisan's secret to achieving lighter shades involves using naturally occurring tannic acid, or Harda, as a pre-treatment. For darker tones, boiled pomegranate rind solution is added during the dyeing process.
